Reuse Commons South

Reuse Commons South is beginning to take shape. We’re exploring a location somewhere south of downtown Seattle — from SODO to Georgetown, Columbia City, or Rainier Beach — with a goal of opening in the next 2 years.

The current vision for Reuse Commons South is a light industry building with 3–5 anchor organizations like the Furniture Repair Bank and Seattle Recreative (confirmed), flexible community space for classes and events, and a lively Saturday Reuse & Repair Market featuring local businesses offering resale and repair for items such as cell phones, clothing, knives, musical instruments, sports equipment, home appliances, furniture, and more.

The Furniture Repair Bank, a south side native business, is leading the effort to bring Reuse Commons South to life. Along with rescuing furniture, training volunteer restorers, and furnishing homes for families in need, we believe repair and reuse can build stronger neighborhoods and a more resilient local economy. Seattle Recreative is a thrift store for art supplies and longtime leaders in Seattle’s reuse movement.

The vision is still evolving, and we’re currently recruiting founding tenants, partners and space. Please reach out with your bright ideas.

Reuse Commons Lake City

Reuse Commons Lake City is a collaborative circular economy space centered on reuse and repair classes, events, retail, and community! Led by the nonprofit, Seattle REconomy, multiple organizations including Salvation Art Collective and Seattle ReCreative will bring the space to life to reduce waste and create a vibrant and welcoming space.

Seattle REconomy operates two tool libraries in the North Seattle and Shoreline areas, providing local infrastructure and community focused on reuse and repair. As the Northern partner for Reuse Commons, they’re excited to bring experience in education, community building, and sustaining a circular economy to Lake City.

Reuse Commons Lake City is actively taking shape, and there’s room to grow with us. We’re welcoming additional partners, makers, and community members who want to help build a lasting hub for reuse and repair in North Seattle. If you have an idea, a skill to share, or a passion for keeping good things in use, we’d love to hear from you.
